At Sunstone, we know that recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. Yet, despite the real work we do and the outcomes we’re proud of, there are still myths floating around about who we are and how we help. It’s time to set the record straight—with facts that speak for themselves.
Let’s break down the top three myths we hear most often.
We support all recovery pathways.
We welcome individuals at all stages of recovery, whether they’re supported by medication-assisted treatment (MAT), abstinence-based strategies, or other prescribed approaches. Sunstone doesn’t dictate the path—you and your treatment provider do. As long as you’re connected with an OhioMHAS-certified outpatient provider, we’re here to support your goals and meet your needs.
Our intake process protects everyone.
We ask thoughtful questions because your safety—and the safety of our community—matters. Intake interviews help us ensure we can meet medical and mobility needs, that the fit is right for everyone involved, and that no one is stepping into a situation they aren’t ready for. It’s not a barrier—it’s a safeguard.
Sunstone is a smart, long-term investment in recovery.
Through grant funding, new residents receive up to 90 days of housing at no cost. After that, it’s just $30 per day—with no hidden fees. Over a 6-month stay, that breaks down to an average of just $105 per week—the same or less than most other providers.
More importantly, the median resident income by Day 91 is $2,360/month. That means our residents are financially stable, budgeting wisely, and ready to step into long-term housing with confidence.
The Bottom Line
We’re not here to provide the bare minimum. We’re here to offer direction, support, and structure that actually leads somewhere—toward stability, growth, and independence.
Sunstone isn’t the right fit for everyone. But if you’re ready to put in the work and move forward with purpose, we’re here to walk that path with you.
